Script Development: The screenplay has undergone significant revisions, strengthening the story spine and deepening the two central characters. The script continues to evolve toward a shooting draft.
Director Attached: A seasoned DGA director with extensive period film experience has joined the project. Initial creative meetings have aligned the team around a shared vision for tone, style, and cinematic approach.
Nevada Film Commission Partnership: Death in Convict Canyon has formally registered with Film Nevada and established working relationships with regional film commissions across northern Nevada and the Eastern Sierra.
Location Scouting Underway: The producing team has conducted preliminary location visits across the Virginia City, Carson City, Carson Valley, and Eastern Sierra corridors, identifying key sites for principal photography.
